What Your Purchases Support…

Find out how Troops 65, 1265 & Pack 65 use the funds raised at our barbecue

Ranks & Awards

The Scouts in Troops 65, 1265 and the Cub Scouts in Pack 65 work hard all year to complete adventures and merit badges all while working hard to earn their next rank! Youth in both units can also earn additional awards for excelling in shooting sports, for embracing sustainability through Leave No Trace and Outdoor Activity awards for time learning outdoor skills. Your purchases help offset more than $3000 in expenses for all three units.

Camping Trips, Fun Activities and More!

Your purchase help our units pay for their trips and activities as well. In the Troop, the Scouts go camping or weekend-long outing 10 months of the year with everything from backpacking to skiing to good, ole car camping. In the Pack, the Cub Scouts hold two family campouts; take a "Big Trip" such as staying on the USS Yorktown or Sleeping with the Sharks at Ripley's Aquarium; and host the Pinewood Derby races where Cub Scouts use kits provided by the Pack to build and race their own cars!

Your Community's, State's and Country's Leaders

The Boy Scouts of America will prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law. Studies show those who complete the Trail to Eagle live up to that vision. According to a study by Baylor University and Gallup, Eagles Scouts - compared to those who never achieved that rank and those who never joined Scouting - are significantly more likely to:
  • Exhibit higher levels of participation in a variety of health and recreational activities
  • Show a greater connection to siblings, neighbors, religious community, friends, coworkers, formal and informal groups and a spiritual presence in nature
  • Share a greater belief in duty to God, service to others, service to the community and leadership
  • Engage in behaviors that are designed to enhance and protect the environment
  • Be committed to setting and achieving personal, professional, spiritual and financial goals
  • Show higher levels of planning and preparedness
  • Indicate that they have built character traits related to work ethics, morality, tolerance and respect for diversity

Your purchase helps keep this program running in Mint Hill as it has for more than 80 years!

“You can do nothing more important for young people today than to continue, or begin, your support of Scouting. I have never met anyone with devoted Scouting experience who was not a solid citizen, a loyal friend, and a patriot. We need more of them.”

—Wallace G. Wilkinson
